Written and Performed by the Award Winning Creator of the Summerworks Smash Miss Caledonia!

person of interestCelebrated actor/writer/director and comedian Melody A. Johnson returns with her newest solo show Person of Interest. Known for her award winning work in Canadian theatre as well as her unique comic turns at Toronto’s famed Second City, Johnson returns with a stellar new show after extended Canadian and UK runs of her Miss Caledonia, (2013 Dora nomination Best New Play and Outstanding Actress, 2014 Ontario Present Touring Artist of the Year).

Person of Interest is a one person comedy drama written & performed by Melody with additional dialogue by Eric Woolfe, (The Haunting of Brimstone McCready), and directed by Miss Caledonia director Rick Roberts, (Waiting for Godot, Soulpepper Theatre, This Life CBC).

Typecast as a “housebound loser”, Person of Interest is the mostly true story of an actor driven to the brink by neighbours from Hell.  Audiences who have enjoyed catching the wave of stand alone storytelling (NPR’s The Moth, CBC’s Vinyl Cafe), will crave the yarn spinning, dark tale that is Person of Interest. Told simply and skillfully, this comic journey of a good neighbour gone bad will strike a chord with anyone who has ever lived, loved, and battled with the people next door.

Melody’s contributions to the Canadian theatre include her Dora winning performance in the titular role in Little Mercy’s First Murder, and nominations for her work include Trout Stanley, 7 Stories, It’s All True, in addition to numerous Canadian Comedy Award nominations for An Awkward Evening with Martin & Johnson, and as actor, writer and director with the Toronto Second City.
