Open letter to MPP David Piccini

Dear Sirs.

Why are there two sets of rules for citizens and the homeless?

Wouldn't I be charged if I engaged in any of the following activities?

I believe that even a cursory investigation of the illegal homeless encampment at Brookside correctional facility will likely show:

  1. pollution due to lack of onsite sanitary facilities;
  2. stolen picnic tables, grocery carts and bicycles; and
  3. illegal drug use.

I have lodged complaints with the Cobourg Police, the Ministry of the Environment, the Mayor of Cobourg and our MPP. No governmental institution appears willing, nor able to address these issues. What are they afraid of?

The entire administration of Justice is brought into disrepute when government endorses, by neglect, a double standard.

R. K. Simpson. A disheartened Cobourg resident
