I am now a fan of Dire Straits. The first time that I paid much attention to this group and this song was when a small, unimportant rights tribunal in Halifax banned a version of this song because it seemed to be anti-gay but in fact it was the reverse and neither the complainer nor the tribunal believed anyone who told them that. Needless to say, it put the group "on the map" and caused me to look this one up on the Internet. I love this particular version - and ironically - it does not include the offending words. They had removed them from most versions anyway. Another example of stupidity on human rights panels.
Not only is Dire Straits doing one of their hits, but they are also helped by Eric Clapton and Phil Collins.
