  • Saturday: 8:15 am to 6:45 pm

This is how the online process and the app work (click graphic to enlarge).

How Does it Work

As an option, you can also pay online or via the app.

Download the app - search for "Pick-up on Demand"  it's by Rideco and a distinctive pink.  Then Register.  When asked for a phone number, provide your cell number because they will send a text to it to confirm your registration.

Google Play

Or, if you prefer, in your phone, go to App Store (or Google Play Store) and search for "pickup on demand" and choose the pink coloured app by Rideco.

If you're a first-time user, you'll need to create an account.

The app includes tracking of the bus so you know where your ride is.

Call 905-373-0582 to book an on-demand ride over the phone. The hours of operation to use the phone booking service are:

  • Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Saturday 8:15 a.m. to 6:45 p.m.
  • Sunday 8:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.

Note that the example of use in the video is not Cobourg so some details may differ.

The trial is planned to continue for the rest of 2021.   It brings improved service but at significantly reduced cost.  This is partly because the improved service is expected to increase ridership so fare revenue would be higher.

Download a printable poster with key information here.

Or go to the Town's page on Transit.  Includes FAQ page.

  • $2.00 - Exact Cash Fare

Previously puchased tickets will be honoured but there will be no new sales of transit tickets. For the on-demand system, fares can also be paid in advance on-line.

Monthly passes

New passes will not be available until Victoria Hall re-opens to the Public - the Town is working on the ability to offer transit passes online but they are not yet available.

Monthly passes include a photo ID, riders name, date of purchase and expiration. When available, these can be purchased in the Finance Department at Victoria Hall. Photos of each rider are saved so riders do not need to take a new photo each month.

Where's My Bus

To see where your Bus is, go to the app and when you have ordered a ride, you can see where it is. Location details are visible on the app only when the vehicle is enroute to your location. You can track the vehicle in real-time on the map when it’s nearer to your pick-up time.
